Two killed at Likoni rally

Two people were reportedly killed after violence erupted at an orange rally in Likoni, Mombasa Friday following the cancellation of the rally for security reasons.
A statement from the Commissioner of Police said administration police officers guarding the local DO’s office shot and injured four arsonists who had set fire to the DO’s office.
The statement said the arsonists had also set ablaze another house and burnt two private motor vehicles.
The statement said the arsonists were in the crowd that turned violent on realizing that the meeting had been cancelled and started rioting after the departure of the Orange team politicians.
The Coast Provincial Security Committee says it is deeply concerned by the uncalled for violence.
